I want to start my first technical post in VirManSec by sharing the information that i got from applying technology and facing the real issues, so we can be up to the level all the time.

So what i am going to talk about is how to create an image for Windows XP & Windows Vista. But what is imaging means?

What i can say about it is: Imaging is a great way to simplify your installation of windows in your environment or even in your personnel computer so:

You don't have to go through all of the boring steps (Next Next Next) that hearts your back while you are setting, and waist the time.

& also if you have a big number of Machines in your environment and you need to standardize all machines, by installing the desired applications.

So now you can create a standard image to all these machines. Another thing, you can create an image for yourself in case you have to reinstall the windows you will put the imgae in your machine & after that everything will be availabe.

But to do these things first you need to know about what are the tools that could be use to capturing images, there are many tools avialable but what we are going to talk about are:

First Tool is Norton Ghost.

Second Tool is ImageX. This tool is available in the Windows PE CD

So now you need to create a CDs to use both technology & to do this here you will have the links that guide you:

1- Creating Ghost CD

http://nightowl.radified.com/bootcd/bootcdintro.html#P1

2- Creating Windows PE CD

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc709665(WS.10).aspx

in both websites you have to follow the exact steps in specially when you creating the Windows PE CD.

Note:

When you are creating Windows PE cd dont create anyfile, tool will create all the files during following the steps.

So now you can create the CDs then use one of them to start capturing images.

Thankfull Message

Hello & Welcome all of you to my first post in VirManSec, & i am really thankfull to whom that did support me by thier adivces, comments, efforts to start my career in the right way, specially for Asem Alhourani who encoureged me to start to be one of the successful persons (After Allah Willings).
