The first session I attended was about designing
virtualization infrastructure; it was a very interesting session and I learned
a lot from it. Here is a photo of the session.

The second session was named “Operation Manager R2” and I
really like the new features of the R2 of Operations Manager 2007, we now
support monitoring UNIX\Linux servers, they even have their own node on the
console, and the very brilliant thing is that the discovery wizard has an
option that says “discover UNIX\Linux servers” and asks you then about the IP
addresses range where those servers are located. Great Session. (by the way it was an instructor-led lab)

The third one was about “Operations Manager 2007 Advanced
Concepts” and it was really good.
The fourth one – the one that I like the most- was Windows
Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V. I learned a lot in this session, I happen to know new
facts about R2 that are really amazing, for instance we have a live migration
now for VMs across hosts with zero down time (under one second as I knew (700
milliseconds)).

In this session I also understood that Microsoft has
released a new Hyper-V server that’s named Microsoft Server 2008 Hyper-V. and
notice that there is no ‘Windows’ word in the name of the product, hence it
needs to licenses further more it is a free product! This product only supports
the Hyper-V role of Server 2008, so for instance you cannot install DHCP, IIS
or any other server roles. It also has no GUI, so you might want to manage it
remotely using terminal services or SCVMM. I truly enjoyed this session and I
would share as much as I can with you hopefully.
and here is a picture of me with the Microsoft Virtualization team, (the guys who wrote Hyper-V)!! I had the chance to chat a lot with them, they are amazing, so down to earth and they make you feel very comfortable talking to them and raising notes and deep technical details

Then I went to the Configuration Manager 2007 MVPs gathering
which was thrown by Wally Mead, I truly had the pleasure of meeting some of my
fellow MVPs.
and here is a photo of the MVP party entrance

It was a very nice reception.
Thanks all
